Affiliate disclosure
ClothesSuck.com is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate or partner links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a booking or purchase after clicking through, at no additional cost to you. Some listings may also be sponsored placements paid for by a venue or organizer.
Every affiliate link and every sponsored placement is labeled as such, directly on the page where it appears. We don't hide this relationship behind vague language.
What sponsorship never affects
Paid placement never changes a listing's verification status, and it never changes where a listing ranks in our organic search results or category listings. A sponsored listing goes through the same fact-checking process as every other listing on the site, and it carries the same verification badge and last-checked date requirements. If a sponsor's information can't be verified, we label it accordingly — sponsorship is not a shortcut around our verification standards.
Why we do this
Running a directory like ClothesSuck, researching, verifying, and keeping hundreds of listings current, costs real time and money. Affiliate commissions and sponsored placements help fund that work without a paywall in front of the directory itself. We think that's a fair trade as long as it's disclosed and it never compromises editorial independence, which is why both are hard rules for how we operate, not just a policy on paper.
