How we verify listings
Quick answer: every ClothesSuck listing carries a verification status and a last-checked date. A "confirmed" badge means we or a source we trust checked the listing's key facts as of that date; anything we haven't personally reconfirmed is labeled "expected" rather than presented as certain. We never blur that line.
What do the verification statuses mean?
Listings move through a few statuses as they're researched. Draft listings are still being assembled and aren't visible to the public. Needs-verification listings have enough information to publish but haven't yet been checked against a live source. Published listings have cleared our verification bar. Archived listings are ones we've confirmed are permanently closed or otherwise no longer relevant, kept for reference rather than active browsing.
What counts as a verified source?
We prioritize a place or event's own official website or booking channel, direct outreach to the operator, and — where those aren't available — recent, corroborating firsthand accounts from more than one independent source. A single old forum post is not enough to mark something confirmed.
How current is the information?
Every published listing shows the date its key facts were last checked. Naturist resorts, clubs, and beaches change hands, close for renovation, or shift their access rules more often than most travel content accounts for, so we treat that last-checked date as important as the listing itself, not a footnote.
What if something's out of date?
Places and events change faster than any directory can track in real time, so we built a direct route for fixes: signed-in members can submit a correction, a new place, or a new event from our contact page. Corrections go into the same editorial queue as our own research. An out-of-date listing is more often explained by the world changing since our last check than by an error on our part — the last-checked date is there so you can judge that for yourself, and tell us when it's slipped.
Does sponsorship affect verification?
No. A small number of listings on ClothesSuck are sponsored placements, and every one is labeled as such. Sponsorship never changes a listing's verification status, never moves it up in organic search results, and never exempts it from the same fact-checking bar as every other listing.
